No one should go hungry!
Multifaith Voices for Peace & Justice, along with many of you and people of goodwill throughout our nation, are deeply distressed at the prospect that people all over the country will be in need of food very soon, simply because the government is arbitrarily refusing to allow funding for SNAP recipients.
We strongly encourage you and your faith communities to organize donations to local food banks, which will be inundated with people in need. We particularly recommend Second Harvest of Silicon Valley, Ecumenical Hunger Program, Downtown Palo Alto Food Closet, South Palo Alto Food Closet, and Sacred Heart Community Service, but feel free to donate to a different food provider that you already work with. Let’s help feed the hungry together!
And CLICK HERE for a list of almost 80 local “Community Food Resources during the SNAP Shutdown” for finding food. Many thanks to Rev. Kaloma Smith for gathering together this information. Share this widely! No one should go hungry!
