Multifaith Voices for Peace & Justice’s Steering Committee joins the cries of religious and humanitarian communities around the world in condemning:
- the Israeli army’s unrelenting and almost daily killing of Gazans, many of them children, many while gathering at aid centers seeking food for the survival of their families;
- the Israeli government’s blockade of any secure and safe distribution of critically needed humanitarian aid into Gaza, essentially using starvation as a weapon of war with children suffering the hardest;
- the deadly settler violence in the West Bank; and
- our own government’s words and actions supporting the unremitting bloodshed and death and putting at risk the true security of all the people of the region.
Drawing from our June 2025 statement, we call for
- an end to all violence,
- immediate unimpeded delivery of robust humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza,
- return of all hostages and all unjustly incarcerated prisoners, and
- a just peace between Israelis and Palestinians that is based on recognizing the basic worth, dignity, and human rights of every person.
All of our faith traditions teach us that every human life is sacred. It is our religious and moral obligation to speak out against these atrocities and to do everything in our power to protect innocent people, whoever and wherever they are.
