Interfaith Prayer with the Mothers of the Disappeared

Led by mothers of those detained, join this Interfaith Vigil at the ICE Field Office in San Francisco. ALL are invited.

The attack on immigrants is escalating and ICE and the U.S. government are disappearing people. Refuse to stand idly by as masked ICE agents abduct and disappear members of our communities.

We draw strength from the legacy of Las Madres de la Plaza del Mayo in Argentina, who came week after week to vigil with their white kerchiefs. If you can, please wear white and bring a red flower.

Join Mothers, Godmothers, and Grandmothers of the disappeared – along with women of faith and allies – giving voice to those taken from us.

Female clergy especially encouraged to help visibly hold the circle. ALL are invited.

Bring: We encourage you to wear white and, if possible, bring a red flower as a symbol of remembrance and resistance.

ICE officers: your mothers are pleading with you: release our children and lay down your weapons now.

  • Pray, sing, and testify.
May our presence be a humanizing force.
  • Demand the release and safe return of those abducted, detained, and disappeared by our government.
May our voices and persistence bring them home.
  • Urge ICE agents and officials to stop participating in the persecution of our communities
May we remember that everyone—immigrants, citizens, and even soldiers— are all someone’s child, and our lives are deeply interconnected.

ICE officers: your mothers are pleading with you: release our children and lay down your weapons now.
