- Stanford University White Plaza
June 5 is the Muslim “Day of Arafah” – a day of prayers and fasting during the month of the Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca. This year people are invited to fast in solidarity with the people of Gaza, with prayers for the end of the blockade and the end of violence.
The Stanford students involved in the hunger strike campaign for the people of Gaza are holding a special vigil & Arafah iftar (breaking of fast) this Thursday (June 5) at 7:30 PM in White Plaza. They will be honoring the conclusion of the current Stanford hunger strike – potentially the longest on record at a US university – remembering Gaza’s martyrs, and breaking fast together for Arafah.
They invite us to join them at 7:30pm this Thursday: “Your presence would be meaningful. Please join us and help spread the word to your community and friends.”
