Join MVPJ at the No Kings 2 Democracy Fair and Democracy Academy!

NO KINGS! events will be held across the nation – with great opportunities right here on the Peninsula – all on Saturday, October 18.

NO KINGS 2 Democracy Fair and Academy 1-4pm, Palo Alto

Democracy Academy Workshop, 12:45-1:45pm Our Strategies and Spiritual Nourishment for Faith-based Activism workshop is part of the Democracy Academy, 12:45-1:45pm at Lucie Stern Community Center, 1305 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto. MVPJ Table – Come visit our MVPJ table in the Power Map Area at Rinconada Park Cultural Park! We’ll stamp your “passport” and you can take a selfie with “Love your neighbor: No exception” or chose another of our faith-based activism signs – to post on social media. AND you can write a postcard to an elected official (postcards and info provided) about how your faith calls you to action. There will also be information about upcoming events and more.

No Kings 2 Parade: 11:30am starting at Town & Country Shopping Center. Peaceful and family-friendly; signs, music, and costumes welcome! We’ll stand in place with joy then join in a short, peaceful march along the sidewalks to the No Kings Democracy Fair at Rinconada Park!

NO KINGS! on El Camino – 12noon-2pm: 8 miles, 16 intersections between Sunnyvale and Palo Alto – Focusing on standing at 16 high visibility intersections, on all corners and both sides of the street. This is a stand in place protest, without marching.

A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.
