Santa Clara County and San Mateo County have separate Rapid Response Networks for protecting immigrant families, responding to ICE activities, and providing accompaniment and legal support during and after detention or deportation. While these two counties work together, it is helpful to know how to reach each of them to volunteer and for support.

Rapid Response Network information for San Mateo County
The San Mateo County Rapid Response Hotline is a 24/7 hotline to respond to community reports about ICE activity in the county. Faith In Action manages this network. The central purpose is to offer emergency legal support to individuals who are detained and other assistance to their families.
They need volunteers who live in any part of San Mateo County to be trained as “Verifiers” (similar to the RRN volunteers in Santa Clara County), no language skills needed, and Court Accompaniment volunteers who speak at least conversational Spanish and can get to downtown San Francisco during the work week. They also host a Mutual Aid Fund for families impacted by ICE detention or deportation, and welcome donations!
