Description:

Watch the film “John Brown’s Body” at San Quentin Prison followed by a discussion with the director and some of the former inmates featured in the film.

This is the true story of nine men. All of the men were convicted of violent crimes, seven of them for murder. Something happened to them to change their lives - they learned to act and they began to discover themselves. The action takes place in California's San Quentin Prison. Director Joe De Francesco had full access to the men over a period of years. We learn who they were and what brought them to prison. We learn what they went through over the many months of the experience. We learn who they became and how they changed.
