American Muslim Voice 4th Annual Open House August 23rd

On Saturday, August 23, 2008, from 5:30 to 8:30 P.M., AMV Foundation is hosting its Fourth Annual Open House at 120 Park Ave in Palo Alto.

This social event has yielded great success in the past three years, not just in bringing hundreds of diverse people together in a fun and relaxed social atmosphere, but also in fostering lasting friendships and shattering barriers among people from all walks of life.

The Miracle Movement of Friendship is but a part of AMV Foundation’s mission. We are a grassroots, nonviolent and inclusive organization dedicated to preserving and protecting civil liberties and constitutional rights for all. We work with all Muslim, multi-faith, community organizations/groups and individuals that share our vision of a peaceful, harmonious and inclusive nation. We believe that working alongside neighbors and strangers towards a shared goal—strengthening the fibers of our country and eradicating cultural fault lines—forges bonds and often sparks friendships.

AMV Foundation enjoys the success that our simple approach to community building yields, but our greatest assets are the lasting friendships, coalitions and alliances we have made in our efforts to bridge the gap between all communities.

AMV Foundation has been fortunate to cultivate relationships with several multi-cultural organizations, faith groups and individuals that shared our vision of a culture of peace, acceptance, mutual respect and harmony. We hope that you will consider adopting an ongoing role in our Miracle Movement of Friendship. To learn more about who we are and what we do, we invite you to visit www.amuslimvoice.org.

We hope to see you among our sea of smiling faces on Saturday, August 23rd in Palo Alto . We will provide a traditional Pakistani dinner, multicultural interaction, kids' activity and cultural experiences. Feel free to invite family, friends and neighbors, and just bring an open mind, an appetite, a few chairs and your special dessert or side dish.

Most importantly, we would like you to share your vision of our beloved, peaceful and inclusive nation through poems, essays, songs, skits or spoken words. We will take care of the rest.

Thank you,
Samina F. Sundas, Founding Executive Director
