Peninsula Peace Procession
The Iraq War Moratorium continues on the third Friday of every month. October 19 will feature a Peninsula Peace Procession, leaving from San Jose and Burlingame at 3pm, traveling along El Camino Real so people can join in with cars, bikes, or cheer us on along the road.
Converging in Palo Alto at 5pm, there will be a concluding program at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 505 East Charleston Ave., Palo Alto at 5:00pm. Ray McGovern, former CIA analyst now on staff of Church of the Savior, will be the keynote speaker, along with veterans, environmentalists and representatives from local indigenous people.
Leave San Jose (from the Calvary United Methodist Church parking lot, 729 Morse St.) or Burlingame (from the Burlingame United Methodist Church parking lot, 1443 Howard Ave.) promptly at 3pm, or join the procession along El Camino from wherever you are. Bikes, electric cars, hybrids, carpooling are all encouraged. And if you can't drive with us, come to El Camino Real and cheer us on from the sidewalk. See http://peaceandjustice.org/article.php?story=Iraq_Moratorium_Oct_19 for details, including places and times to join the procession from up and down the peninsula.
Sponsored by a variety of bay area peace organizations, including the Multifaith Voices for Peace and Justice.
