Description: Have you ever wondered how those entrusted with planning for the use of our nuclear arsenal in the event of an attack cope with the paradox of planning to do that which must not be done, and which would be utterly catastrophic if carried out?
Dr. Lynn Eden, a professor of sociology at Stanford and Associate Director of Research at the Center for International Security and Cooperation, has actually had extensive interviews with our nuclear-war-fighting planners. At this free talk, Dr. Eden will share the results of her investigations She is a compelling speaker, and her talk will deepen your understanding of the sense and nonsense involved in the strategy of nuclear deterrence.
This presentation is part of our series on ridding the world of nuclear weapons. Come and meet others who are working on realizing this goal.
