About the Exhibit:  COMMEMORATING THE FIRST ANNIVERSARY OF THE EARTHQUAKE IN HAITI

Marie Josee Mont-Reynaud's ethnographic photography documents everyday life, children and families of a rural Haitian mountain community, Mon Bouton.

The exhibit illustrates ways in which Haiti -- and Haitians -- traditionally work and get by in the eroded landscape.  Children are a key part of the work force.

The exhibit is currently on display at St. Mark's Parish Hall Tuesdays - Fridays 12 to 4 pm.

The official Opening Reception will be December 21, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

On Sunday, January 16th, the award-winning film "My Mountain," (22 min.) will  be screened at 12noon. The cinematographer/photographer will be on hand to discuss the film, and her October 2010 sojourn in Haiti.

On January 28, 6-8 pm, a closing reception sponsored by Multifaith Voices for Peace & Justice will present excerpts of the report to the Clinton Bush Foundation, "Making it in Rural and Urban Haiti: How Folks Get By," with slides and discussion of factory work, pros and cons, led by Randy Mont-Reynaud, PhD.

The display and all events are free and open to the public.
